This course is comprised of 3 video modules and a series of questions relating to each section. Please review each video and take notes for the best retention. After each module you will be asked a series of questions, if you receive a passing grade of 70% or above you will unlock the next section.

The first module of the course provides background information about the prevalence of substance use disorders, the impact on public health, and the importance of screening for alcohol and substance use. This context helps explain the rationale for using SBIRT in various settings, and we specifically explain the mandate in California to provide SBIRT in primary care settings to all Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The module also discusses different options for screening tools and walks you through the use and scoring of the AUDIT validated screening questionnaire approved for Medi-Cal reimbursement.
