Treatment of Justice Involved Clients with Substance Use Disorders
Course Description
In this on-demand course, Igor Koutsenok, MD, will provide an overview of treatment interventions for justice involved clients with substance use disorders. This course will cover recent data on opioid use in criminal justice populations as well as risk factors for criminality and factors to consider when providing treatment.

- Identify three (3) interventions for justice involved clients.
- Recognize two (2) goals of interventions in criminal justice involved patients.
- Specify three (3) evidence-based treatment models specifically designed for this population.
- Distinguish between four (4) elements on the continuum of treatment.

How to receive a CE/CME certificate:
For Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners only, you will receive a link to complete the course evaluation for CME after watching the video for this course, and you will receive your CE certificate via email within six to eight weeks.

UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. UCLA ISAP maintains responsibility for this program and its content
UCLA ISAP is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs (Provider #64812). UCLA ISAP maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Course meets the qualifications for one (1.0) hour of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. UCLA ISAP is also an approved provider of continuing education for RADTs I/II, CADCs-CASs, CADCs I/II, CADCs-CSs, and LAADCs (CCAPP, #2N-21-339-1225), CATCs (ACCBC/CAADE, #CP40 872 C 0825), and CAODCs (CADTP, #151). CE credit will be awarded at the conclusion of the training. Partial credit will not be available for those participants who arrive late or leave early.
